CAHPS® Hospital Survey (HCAHPS) Training Information
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will offer Introduction to HCAHPS and HCAHPS Update Training sessions the week of February 25, 2019. These training sessions are intended for hospitals that self-administer the HCAHPS Survey, hospitals that administer the HCAHPS Survey for multiple sites (multi-sites), and survey vendors that participate in HCAHPS, as well as other interested individuals and organizations. Please see the list of required organizations for each training session below.
There is no fee for either the Introduction or Update Training. Training materials for the 2019 HCAHPS Training sessions, as well as the newly revised HCAHPS Quality Assurance Guidelines V14.0, will be posted on the HCAHPS Web site (www.hcahpsonline.org) in late February 2019. Please note that the HCAHPS Quality Assurance Guidelines V14.0 will be made available on the HCAHPS Web site, and will not be provided in hard copy.

Applying to Become an Approved HCAHPS Organization |
Requirements: Organizations requesting consideration for approval to administer the HCAHPS Survey must meet all of the “HCAHPS Minimum Survey Requirements to Administer the HCAHPS Survey (Minimum Business Requirements).” These requirements are available on the HCAHPS Web site, on the “Quality Assurance” page. To apply for approval to administer the HCAHPS Survey, interested organizations must complete all requirements for Introduction to HCAHPS Training and submit a Participation Form online (www.hcahpsonline.org) during the specified time period listed below. Organizations meeting the above requirements will be scheduled to attend a Participation Teleconference to discuss their qualifications. Please note that approval status granted to organizations qualified to administer the HCAHPS Survey will be effective October 1, 2019. Deadlines:

Introduction to HCAHPS Training
When: Monday, February 25 through Thursday, February 28, 2019 (via a self-training module)
Participating organizations must review training slides, submit an Attestation Form of completion, and complete and submit an online quiz (see deadlines above).

HCAHPS Update Training: The contact person at your organization, who is identified on your training registration, will receive an email confirmation with the telephone dial-in, Webinar information and pass code for the Update Training session the week prior to training.
